First, let me thank everyone who came out for our annual Mardi Gras Parade! It was a beautiful day filled with laughter and love, and I am deeply grateful to everyone who took the time to celebrate with us this past weekend.

Additionally, I would like to thank all the volunteers and organizers at Discover Lansdale for their hard work bringing the parade to life this year. It takes half a year to organize and structure one of the largest events in our community and without the dedicated commitment of everyone at Discover Lansdale our parade would not have been able to step off in such superb fashion.

Also, I am happy to announce that the Mayor’s Choice award this year went to Elm Terrace Gardens for their awesome interpretation of the theme “Hollywood Holidays” by creating a float dedicated to “A Christmas Story”. I was impressed by the level of detail they were able to put on the float, inclusive of a leg lamp!

As this is Thanksgiving week, I will keep my article like the work week, short. Throughout the year so many people and community members have been helping move Lansdale forward. Throughout the year residents have come to meetings and discussed everything from traffic concerns and road repair to supporting economic growth and development. Your voices and your passion are always welcomed and appreciated even if not everything can be achieved as fast as any of us would like.

As we look to finish up the year and settle the final details of our 2025 budget it is my hope that we will be able to achieve two key developments:

1. Pass a Vacancy Registration Ordinance that will allow us to address both commercial and residential vacancies across our community while simultaneously funding larger economic development initiatives.

2. Further increase our investment in infrastructure improvements across both our roadways and our electric department looking to address necessary traffic calming improvements and needed energy efficiency and generation needs.

While we continue to work on these developments I am thankful for the opportunity to take a breather for a moment and thank all of you for your passionate support of our community. I look forward to seeing you all at our Christmas Tree Lighting event next week and I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
