A downed tree and utility pole are the cause of both closures on Saturday.

UPDATE:

Around 11:55 a.m., the Hatfield Township Police added a second road closure warning for the community. East Vine Street is currently closed between South Main Street and Maple Avenue.

This second closure is also due to a downed tree and power lines in the roadway. Drivers are asked to avoid the area as possible. Police said that drivers are not permitted to drive around the barricades in place.

The closure is also expected to last several hours.

The Hatfield Township Police Department issued a warning to area drivers on Saturday morning.

Around 11:28 a.m., the police notified the public via the Crime Watch page here that Derstine Road is currently closed between Cowpath Road and Bergey Road. The closure is due to a downed tree and utility pole, which has caused there to be wires in the roadway.

Drivers are asked to please avoid the area if possible and obey fire police who are currently at the scene directing traffic. The roadway will be closed for the next several hours as crews respond to address the issues.
