New citizens of the United States of America were greeted by members of Towamencin Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) on Thursday, November 14, at the Naturalization to the United States of America ceremony held at Montgomery County Court House in Norristown.

At the ceremony 20 individuals from 13 countries around the globe took the Oath of American Citizenship and were awarded their certificates by Lisa A. Shearman, president of the Montgomery Bar Association.

The DAR members presented each new citizen with a gift bag containing a US flag, a flag pin, and a copy of the United States Constitution, among other items and patriotic literature.

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is a non-political service organization that promotes historic preservation, education and patriotism, and is open to any woman 18 years or older who can prove lineal, bloodline descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence.
