Upper Gwynedd Police are looking for a few good men and women to join its ranks.

The township’s Civil Service Commission announced the department is currently hiring full-time police officers, with applications available at police headquarters.

Application deadline is Dec. 6 at 4 p.m., with a physical agility test and written exam taking place Dec. 7 at 9 a.m. at 1 Parkside Place. A cumulative score of 70% or higher is required to pass the written test.

Act 120 Certification is not required to apply, but the candidate must successfully obtain certification within the first year of employment. Special assignment opportunities include the bicycle unit, the motorcycle patrol, K9, and SWAT.

The police department offers competitive benefits, such as life, health and accident, dental and prescription insurance, 12 paid holidays and education assistance. Uniforms and equipment are provided by the township.

The probationary starting salary is $65,034.58, with the Class A Patrolman base rate set at $118,244.67 annually.

To be eligible, applicants must be a U.S. citizen, at least 21 years old, and must have a high school diploma or GED.
