Anne Henning-Scheuring of Lansdale was recognized by Towamencin Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution with a Community Service award for her Hometown Heroes banner program that honors veterans who served.

One of her most recognizable achievements, Anne proposed her idea to Lansdale’s borough council in 2016, with the expectation that 50 banners would be purchased and displayed around town. The program was overwhelmingly received by the public in the first year, and today, as many as 500 of the red, white and blue banners are displayed along Lansdale’s streets and Memorial Park. Anne has helped surrounding municipalities in the region and beyond adopted the program for their own communities.

In addition to the banner program, Anne’s lifelong commitment to Lansdale includes a tenure on Borough Council, serving on civic committees and her involvement with Lansdale Library and Lansdale Historical Society.
