The Sixers finally officially unveiled their City Edition uniforms Thursday, ones that actually "leaked" back in September when Pearl Jam wore them for a show in Philly.
These crisp jerseys pay homage to the Spectrum, which was the home to the Sixers from 1967 to 1996, and nicknamed "America's Showplace."
Per a release from the Sixers, here's some of the easter eggs on the jerseys you may not have noticed:
The uniform will feature a white base color, reclaiming the time-honored tradition of the home white uniform, showcasing numerals derived from the 1976-77 season.
The front of the jersey presents a variation of the “Sixers” wordmark that the team wore in the mid-1970s, highlighted in a bold red.
The Spectrum color panels run down both sides of the uniform and nod to Philadelphia’s “4 for 4” sports fans.
A custom Spectrum badge logo is adorned on the side of the shorts to pay homage to “America’s Showplace.” The shorts will also include the iconic Spectrum “S” anchored on the belt.
They basically complete the Spectrum set, as the Sixers had navy Spectrum-inspired threads that were introduced during the 2021-22 season and were extremely popular:
Here's a look at the schedule for when the Sixers will wear the white Spectrum jerseys in 2024-25 at Wells Fargo Center for what they are calling "Spirit of 76 Nights".
