Scooter-riding woman hospitalized Thursday after being hit in crosswalk

A 32-year-old female riding an electric scooter was hit by a Volvo in the crosswalk on the 500 block of Constitution Avenue in front of the Perkasie Square Shopping Center in Perkasie Borough Thursday afternoon and hospitalized at Grand View Hospital with head, shoulder and ankle injuries, where she is in stable condition.

Perkasie Borough Police responded to the scene and discovered the victim was crossing in the crosswalk on the scooter when she was struck by the car traveling southbound, police said.

The woman suffered multiple injuries and was taken to the hospital by Grand View medics, police said.

Perkasie Police were assisted at the scene by Perkasie Fire Co., Sellersville Fire Co., Perkasie and Sellersville Fire Police, and the Bucks County District Attorney's Office CRASH Team.

The driver of the Volvo stopped immediately and was cooperative through the investigation, police said.

No charges have been filed at this time. There is video evidence of the accident, police said.

The road was closed for about three hours, reopening around 7:55 p.m.
