State Rep. Steve Malagari, D-Montgomery, today announced a $1.25 million grant has been awarded through the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program to support the construction and enhancement of the Hatfield Public Safety Facility.
“This funding allows us to provide Hatfield Township with a modern facility that will enhance public safety and serve our community well for years to come,” said Malagari. “With these upgrades, we’re ensuring that our local law enforcement has the tools and space they need to protect and support our residents effectively.”
“Everyone deserves to feel safe in their community,” said state Sen. Maria Collett, D-Montgomery. “I was proud to support this transformative investment for the people who live in Hatfield and those who serve them, making sure our law enforcement members have the facilities and resources they need to do their jobs safely and effectively.”
This investment will provide Hatfield Township with a state-of-the-art facility designed to meet modern public safety and security needs.
The project includes essential site work, encompassing erosion and sediment controls, clearing and demolition, earthwork, stormwater management, sanitary sewers, landscaping, and more. Structural upgrades will involve building concrete, masonry, steelwork, and carpentry, alongside systems for mechanical, electrical, and other critical functions. Enhanced safety features are also included, such as CCTV surveillance, access control, and secure fencing.
Malagari said the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program is a Pennsylvania grant program for the design, acquisition, and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational, and historical improvement projects. RACP projects have a regional impact and generate substantial increases or maintain current levels of employment, tax revenues, or other measures of economic activity. RACP projects are state-funded projects that cannot obtain primary funding under other state programs.
