As I am sure most of you are aware, tomorrow is Election Day!

Polls are open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. for all residents to cast their ballots in person. Additionally, the drop box locations will be accepting ballots until 8 p.m.

It is understatement to say that your vote will matter tomorrow. The presidential election is likely to come down to a handful of states and Pennsylvania is expected to be one of the tightest races of them all. Please take your civic responsibility seriously and make sure you take the time to fully consider the impact your decision may have on not just you and your family, but the entire country. It is up to all of us to manage, maintain, and support our democracy and not let it fall into demagoguery and absolutism.

As Benjamin Franklin once responded to the question “what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?”, “A republic, if you can keep it.”.

As you make your way to the polls tomorrow, please make sure you give yourself ample time to vote. We are expecting long lines at many polling locations, and you may need extra time to vote. Please be patient with all the volunteers that help organize and run our elections. They are working very long hours trying to ensure everyone can participate in our democracy; a little patience and understanding can go a long way on hard days as we all well know.

Finally, I would like to thank every single poll worker who is working on the election tomorrow. Their work is essential to our democracy and without their volunteerism and commitment we likely would not have elections run as smoothly as we do. As someone who checks on our election workers throughout the day, I can vouch for just how hard they work to try and ensure we have a well-organized and fair process. Regardless of affiliation or beliefs, all of them are there working extremely hard to make sure your voice is heard through your ballot choices, thank you for that commitment and passion.
