Grab anything with a plug to be recycled or discarded, along with any boxes or bags of paper, and head over to Montgomery Mall on Saturday morning for State Rep. Steve Malagari’s free shred and e-waste event.

According to a press release, the event, running from 10 a.m. to noon, is to help citizens get organized and avoid potential identity theft.

There is a three box/bag limit for paper products.

Accepted items for e-waste recycling include anything with a plug: Computers and laptops, holiday lights, cell phones, printers and scanners, wires and cords, unwanted small appliances, air conditioners, and car batteries.

DO NOT bring alkaline batteries, TVs and monitors, hazardous materials and light bulbs.

Furthermore, District 53 staff will be on hand to answer questions about state-related issues and services.

Malagari now has mobile office hours across the 53rd District at the following locations and times:

Generations of Indian Valley, second Monday of each month, 10:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

Souderton Mennonite Homes, third Monday of each month, 10 a.m. to noon.

Lansdale Peak Center, second Tuesday of each month, 10 a.m. to noon.

Montgomery Township Community and Recreation Center, first Wednesday of each month, 10 a.m. to noon.

The Souderton office is by appointment only.
