A 25-year-old man suffered a broken right tibia bone after being hit by car Wednesday evening at the intersection of East Main and Broad streets in Lansdale and is undergoing surgery Thursday morning at Grand View Hospital, according to family members of the victim.

Lansdale Police said a preliminary investigation revealed a Toyota Corolla was traveling westbound on Main Street and attempted to turn left onto southbound Broad Street when the left turn arrow activated, shortly after 5:30 p.m.


Upon turning left, the Corolla hit the pedestrian, who was crossing westbound on Main Street at the crosswalk, police said.

The driver of the striking vehicle stopped and remained on scene. The victim was taken to Grand View Hospital’s trauma unit for treatment of injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.

Lansdale Police were assisted at the scene by VMSC EMS.

No road closures were necessary.
