More than 2,000 elementary students competed Saturday in Towamencin.

They ran, they swam, they pedaled their little hearts out.

More than 2,000 North Penn School District elementary students competed Saturday in the 12th annual North Penn IRONKnightsTriathlon, which is the largest one-day elementary triathlon event in the nation. 

The event was held in three divisions: K-2, 3-4 and 5-6.

Girls and boys who finished first, second and third place in their division received an IRONKnight trophy. Every participants received an IRONKnight Triathlon T-shirt.

York Avenue Elementary students Huw Beels and Lars Clancy clinched first place for Third Grade and Sixth Grade, respectively, across the entire district. 

North Wales, Bridle Path and Gwyn-Nor elementaries all had three students each reach first, second or third place honors.
