Nurses and other staff at Jefferson Abington and Jefferson Lansdale hospitals joined together to pay it forward in a special way during Nurses Week this year.
The group organized a donation drive to benefit unhoused individuals suffering from substance use disorder. In assembly line fashion, volunteers packed blessing bags for Angels in Motion, an outreach organization that connects with people suffering from substance use disorder.
More than 750 bags were assembled by volunteers. Each bag included snacks, notes of encouragement and helpful resources.
Organizers expressed appreciation to everyone who made this Nursing Community Service Project possible.
