Fire crews on scene of reported house fire in Franconia Township

Firefighters had a house fire under control within a half-hour Friday afternoon in the Hidden Springs community in Franconia Township.

Upon arrival on scene shortly after 4:30 p.m., fire crews found heavy black smoke showing from the roof of the ranch home on the unit block of Chatham Court in the senior living community off East Township Line Road. 

By 4:33 p.m., firefighters were working on cutting a hole in the roof for ventilation.

Perseverance Fire Co. of Souderton, Tylersport Fire Co., Hatfield Fire Co. and Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale responded to the scene.

There were no injuries and no one was in the home at the time of the fire.
