No injuries in Morgandale attic fire in Towamencin Sunday afternoon

Towamencin Vol. Fire Co., with assistance from four other fire companies, had the fire under control in 20 minutes.

An attic fire in a condominium at Morgandale in Towamencin Township was under control within 20 minutes by Towamencin Vol. Fire Co. and mutual aid from surrounding fire companies Sunday afternoon.

According to Montgomery County radio dispatch, the fire call came in at 4:36 p.m. for a fire at 1110 Jefferson Ct., with reports of flames in the bathroom fan. Towamencin Township Police, according to the fire company, reported smoke coming from the roof and fire in the second-floor ceiling.

Towamencin Vol. Fire Co. posted on Facebook that the first two fire engines and the ladder truck arrived within seven minutes of the call, and the fire was contained shortly thereafter, by 4:45 p.m. 

"Smoke did extend through several areas of the attached units, but there was no sustained damage of water or smoke outside of the immediate area of origin," according to the post. 

There were no injuries.

Towamencin Vol. Fire Co. was assisted at the scene by Hatfield Fire Co., Souderton Perseverance Fire Co., North Penn Vol. Fire Co., Upper Salford Fire Co., and VMSC of Lansdale. 

The scene was cleared by 5:11 p.m.

Morgandale Drive was closed temporarily between Stockton Court and Dillon Drive.
