1 injured in Thursday afternoon multi-vehicle crash on Route 309 in Colmar

Route 309 southbound remains closed in all directions between Walnut Street and Lenhart Road in Colmar, Hatfield Township following a multi-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon that sent one person to the hospital with unspecified injuries.


According to reports and radio dispatch, the accident occurred at 3:33 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the 100 block of Route 309/Bethlehem Pike and involved three vehicles: a Sal's Nursery & Landscaping Inc. dump truck, a black Acura MDX SUV, and a white Chevrolet 2500 work van.


Traffic was reduced to one southbound lane and one northbound lane after the crash.


The dump truck collided head-on with the Acura MDX, per reports. The white van sustained minor driver's side damage, per reports.


Hatfield Police were assisted at the scene by Colmar Fire Co., VMSC Emergency Medical Services, and Montgomery Township Fire Police.


At least one vehicle was towed from the scene.
