From the turf of War Memorial Field to the gridiron of Bobby Dodd Stadium, and now onto SoFi Stadium – a New Britain Township native and Central Bucks West alum is now a Charger.

According to Georgia Tech, 6-foot 4-inch, 233-pound Yellow Jackets tight end Luke Benson, 23, whose family residents on Curley Mill Road, agreed to free-agent terms with the Los Angeles football team on Saturday, making him an official member of the National Football League.

Benson was a graduate transfer from Syracuse, per the report, who had 10 starts in 25 games with two seasons at Georgia Tech.

A member of CB West’s Class of 2019, he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.43 seconds in front of NFL scouts, and recorded a 35-inch vertical jump during the school’s pro day, per the report. Benson can bench 225 pounds repeatedly, no problem, per the report.

According to his Hudl.com profile, Benson was First Team All Suburban One League Tight End/Defensive End 2017. At CB West, Benson was a member of the boys’ junior varsity basketball team, boys’ varsity basketball, and varsity football. He was also a member of the school’s track and field team.
