Max Performance, a Hatfield Township business located at 1513 N. Broad St. specializing in wholesaling parts for American muscle cars and trucks, is considering a new facility in Hilltown Township at Bethlehem Pike and Keystone Drive.

However, according to The Bucks County Herald, the proposed location has sparked opposition from some residents on and near Keystone Drive. They expressed their opinions to the 3-member Hilltown Township Board of Supervisors last week.

According to the report, the residents are crying “NIMBY” over noise, disruption, safety, increased truck traffic, and lower property values, per the report. Some residents asked the township to buy the land and turn it into a park, according to the article.

“We do not want this building,” said Keystone Drive resident Azlyn Beck in the article. “Let’s do what we need to do to bring a halt to this permanently.”

Max Performance told supervisors during a preliminary sketch plan presentation that      it is growing out of its space in Hatfield Township and needs to build a 16,000- to 20,000-square-foot warehouse at the intersection, according to the report. It would employ 15 people, who end work at 5 p.m., per the report.

The project engineer called it “low volume” traffic in the article. Max Performance’s Eric Casperson told supervisors the business is at present restricted by height and square footage.

Max Performance is not asking for any zoning or planning changes, per the article.
