Man arrested for driving stolen vehicle in Montgomery Township, police say

An Erdenheim man has been arrested after he was allegedly caught driving a stolen vehicle through Montgomery Township Sunday night.

Police said they initiated a traffic stop in the area of Richardson Road and Bethlehem Pike at 9:01 p.m. on March 24 after observing a white Toyota Camry with dark tint. Upon checking the vehicle registration, police said the registration came back to a Nissan and not a Toyota, according to the criminal complaint.

The driver, identified as 39-year-old Germain Kimber, allegedly told police that the vehicle did not belong to him, and that he did not have his driver’s licenses, the report states. A records check showed Kimber’s license was under a DUI suspension, and the vehicle was reported stolen out of Philadelphia on Nov. 18, 2023, according to police.

Kimber was taken into custody and arraigned the following morning on a felony count of receiving stolen property, a misdemeanor count of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and a summary count of driving on a suspended license. He was initially taken to the county jail in lieu of 10% of $5,000 cash bail, however a bail review lowered the amount to 10% of $500 and he was released after posting.

His next court appearance is a preliminary hearing on April 2 at 10:30 a.m. in front of Magisterial District Judge Andrea Duffy.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
