North Penn Boys’ Swimming and Diving Team repeat champions, Faikish sets Girls' Swimming school record at PIAA States

Last year, the North Penn Knights Boys’ Swimming and Diving Team brought home gold to their Towamencin school after a 20-year drought at the PIAA-3A State Championships.

Last week, at Bucknell University’s Kinney Natatorium, they made sure it stayed there for another year.

The invincible natators finished their PIAA championship meet with 204 points, beating out second place Conestoga by 21 points, according to The Reporter. La Salle (157) and Central Bucks West (149) were fifth and sixth, respectively.

Here is the breakdown of the North Penn championship team:

  • Mason Potts, 4th, 100 yard butterfly
  • Brendan Lao, 9th, 100 yard butterfly
  • 200 yard freestyle relay, 5th
  • 200 yard medley relay, 2nd
  • Mason Potts, 2nd, 100 yard freestyle
  • Macek Vandermolen, 11th, 100 yard freestyle
  • Alexander Burns, 11th, 500 yard freestyle
  • Brayden Kemezis, 12th, 500 yard freestyle
  • Nevin Shaw, 8th, 100 yard breaststroke
  • 400 yard freestyle relay, 4th
  • Joshua Gratton, 4th, 1 meter diving
  • David Dian, 5th, 1 meter diving

 

Furthermore, North Penn Knights Girls’ swimmer Maddie Faikish captured gold two years in a row at the PIAA meet as well, setting a new North Penn High School record for the 500 free.

Finally, Rep. Steve Malagari recently welcomed and honored the North Penn High School Boys’ and Girls’ water polo teams for their state championship wins, according to his Facebook.
