With the Spring season comes Spring cleaning, and Souderton Area
High School’s Students Against Violating the Earth (SAVE) is ready to accept
appliances, car batteries, vinyl records, books, sporting goods, U.S. flags,
formal wear and more for its SAVE Spring Community Recycling Day on April 27,
according to a press release.
The event will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the high school
at 625 Lower Road, Souderton.
Here are the things that SAVE CANNOT or WILL NOT accept:
- TVs
- Computer Monitors
- Refrigerators, dehumidifiers and A/C units with Freon
- Light bulbs
- Household batteries
- Fluorescent tubes
- Tires
- Textbooks
- Encyclopedias
Here is what SAVE WILL ACCEPT during the April 27 event:
- Appliances (ovens, microwaves, dishwashers, etc)
- Lead-acid car batteries
- Scrap metal (60% metal or greater)
- CDs
- DVDs
- VHS
- Cassettes
- Betamax
- Vinyl records
- Video game systems, accessories, and video games (working and non-working)
- Cell phones (working or non-working)
- School and art supplies
- Stuffed animals (Still usable, all shapes, all sizes)
- Dolls and action figures and accessories
- Fish/reptile accessories and tanks
- Plates and utensils
- Books
- Mason glass jars (unbroken, with or without lids)
- Eyeglasses and cases
- Holiday decorations
- LEGOs (donated to SAHS Science Department)
- Chess sets and board games
- Puzzles
- Calculators (donated to SAHS Science and Math departments)
- Sporting goods equipment (Gently used)
- Formal wear and prom dresses (for reuse)
- Shoes (lightly used or new)
- Dish rags (still usable, donated to SAHS Science Department)
- U.S. flags
- Garden tools (gently used, donated to SAHS greenhouse)
