Vehicle Fire With No Injuries Destroys SUV, Closes Sumneytown Pike Sunday Night

An older-style tan Chevrolet Blazer was fully engulfed in flames Sunday night in Lower Gwynedd Township, causing Sumneytown Pike to be closed between DeKalb Pike/202 and Swedesford Road, according to reports from the scene.

North Penn Volunteer Fire Company responded to the scene at 1712 Sumneytown Pike near William Penn Inn shortly after 8:15 p.m., according to Montgomery County Active Incidents.

Fire Department of Montgomery Township and Lower Gwynedd Township Police assisted at the scene.

There was no EMS response necessary, per reports. An unidentified person believed to be the driver was safe outside of the vehicle.
