Female Jogger Fights Off Unknown Twentysomething Assailant Tuesday Evening in Montgomery Township, Police Say

Montgomery Township Police said a 6-foot-tall twentysomething male grabbed and assaulted a female jogger Tuesday night in the Westgate neighborhood, located off Upper State Road and across from Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Church.

The assault occurred around 5:15 p.m. in the area of Longleat Drive and Westgate drives, police said.

The unknown man approached the woman from behind, grabbed her arm, and struck her in the face, police said. The jogger fought back with the assaulter, who then fled the area toward Upper State Road, police said.

The assailant is described as a white male, about 20 years of age, thin build, and six feet tall, police said. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt pulled tight around his face, making identification difficult, police said.

Police and a canine unit immediately searched the area with no results.
