A group of North Montco Technical Career Center students is set to participate in the upcoming SkillsUSA American Spirit team competition in Hershey.
The purpose of the SkillsUSA American Spirit competition is to evaluate local chapter activities that embody the essence of community service, citizenship and patriotic values. Participants are tasked with demonstrating their dedication to these principles through a series of impactful initiatives, according to a press release from North Montco Technical Career Center.
To demonstrate their commitment to community service, the North Montco Technical Career Center students recently spent time at Morningside House, where they engaged with residents delivering cookies prepared by students in the Baking & Pastry Arts program, while students in the Graphic Arts program crafted personalized greeting cards, all of which were warmly received by the residents.
In support of their patriotic and citizenship endeavors, the students will help the Towamencin Township Fire Department wash fire trucks on March 16 from 12 to 2 p.m. The students will also visit a local middle school on March 15 for Career Day, when they will showcase various items from their programs to inspire the next generation of students to explore career and technical education opportunities, said the release.
