At Least One Injured, Transported From Scene in Two-Car Crash on Forty Foot Road in Hatfield Township Friday Afternoon

A two-vehicle accident on Forty Foot Road in Hatfield Township, between Clemens and Elroy roads, Friday afternoon sent at least one man to the hospital for treatment of injuries and affected early rush hour traffic.

A green Volkwagen Turbo bug sustained severe damage to its rear driver’s side and wheel, and came to rest in the eastbound lane of Forty Foot Road, per reports.

About a quarter mile up the road, in front of Pennfield Middle School, a white Infiniti sedan sustained severe damage to the front right wheel and vehicle body, per reports.

Hatfield Township Police said one was transported via Volunteer Medical Services Corps to an area hospital. It is unclear if the second driver was transported from the scene at this time.

Police said preliminary findings show the cause of the accident was a rear-end collision at 1:53 p.m. near 532 Forty Foot Road. The investigation is ongoing.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene. The scene was active as of 2:40 p.m.
