New Hair Salon Opens in Hilltown

Modern Artistry Salon is a full-service salon, offering haircuts, coloring and highlighting.

A new Hilltown hair salon celebrated its grand opening March 2 to great fanfare.

Dozens of community members braved the rain to attend the celebration, featuring food, drinks and socializing.

Titled Modern Artistry Salon, the business is owned by veteran hairstylists Kyra Kratz and Melissa Ricci. Both expressed a passion for hairstyling since childhood. After working together for over a decade at Main Street Salon in Silverdale, the two decided to open their own salon.

Located at 230 PA-313 Store 7, the salon officially opened in February to great success, having attracted old and new clients and hired a third stylist, Alyssa Panfil. Kratz and Ricci credited the business’s modern, inviting atmosphere.

"We have a modern vibe that we brought to the area,” said Kratz. "You see this more in the city.”

"It’s an inviting, friendly atmosphere where everybody is welcome,” said Ricci. "It’s like a family. Our customers become like family.”

Modern Artistry Salon offers haircuts, coloring and highlighting. It is open on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, call 445-266-2508 or email [email protected].
