Emergency crews battle Lansdale kitchen fire Friday night

Four area fire companies responded to a kitchen fire late Friday night in Lansdale Borough.

At 11:24 p.m., a caller at 701 Walnut Street, at the intersection of Seventh Street, reported a ktichen fire to emergency personnel. 

Upon arrival, Lansdale Police saw heavy smoke coming from the home. Fire crews encountered heavy fire in the kitchen, according to radio traffic. 

Occupants of the home were evacuated. There were no reported injuries.

Neighbors stated smoke filled the surrounding area of the neighborhood. No other homes were evacuated or displaced.

The scene was active for about 90 minutes. Portions of Walnut Street and Seventh Street were closed. 

Lansdale Police were assisted by Fairmount Fire Co., Hatfield Vol. Fire Co., Colmar Fire Co., Upper Gwynedd Fire, and VMSC EMS.    By James Short
