Shed roof ignites after tree severs power lines in Friday evening rainstorm

A wild rainstorm Friday evening brought a tree limb crashing onto and severing power lines, which then ignited a shed roof in a residential Lansdale neighborhood near the border with Towamencin Township Friday evening. 

The incident occurred at 1056 Delaware Ave. shortly before 5:30 p.m. 

Lansdale Electric responded to the scene.

Assisting at the scene were Lansdale Fairmount Fire Co., Worcester Vol. Fire Co., and Towamencin Vol. Fire Co. 

The scene was clear by 6:30 p.m. 

There were no injuries.
