A Lansdale is man with three prior retail theft convictions is facing felony retail theft and receiving stolen property charges, Hilltown Township Police allege, for taking $211 worth of merchandise from Walmart in Hilltown Township.

Police said James Angelo Campitelli, 42, of an apartment on the unit block E Main Street, is also facing misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, per court records.

On June 4, at 5:34 p.m., police were called to the store at 1515 Bethlehem Pike for a subject in custody for retail theft, police said. Police met with Campitelli at Walmart, where security officers showed officers a variety of unpaid merchandise that Campitelli allegedly took from the store, totaling $211.17, per the complaint.

Campitelli was taken into custody and a search of his pockets uncovered suspected marijuana flower in a container, police said.

He is free on $25,000 unsecured bail, set at arraignment by Bucks County Magisterial District Judge Lisa J. Gaier, per court documents. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 16 at 3 p.m. before Magisterial District Judge Regina Armitage.

Campitelli has four active retail theft cases in Berks and Montgomery counties, according to the Unified Judicial System of Pennsylvania.
