The case is making national news, as the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children featured her on "On Patrol: Live."
Anthony and Katie Medwatz are still pleading with the public and their community to help locate their 16-year-old daughter Geyahna, who suddenly went missing in the early morning hours of March 21 from her West Rockhill residence on Lower Rocky Dale Road.
“I just can’t believe we still don’t know where Geyahna is. My heart breaks every day,” wrote Katie on Facebook last week. “I am so full of worry, fear and sadness. I just need her to be safe.”
Medwatz was last seen March 29, eight days after being reported missing, in southwest Philadelphia. Katie said there were possible sightings of her in Upper Darby, in Kensington at Kensington & Allegheny, and on Ruth Street in Philadelphia.
Geyahna also goes by “GG” and is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds. She has brown eyes and brown hair. It is unknown what Geyahna was wearing at the time of her disappearance.
All Katie wants is anything a mother wants – to know her baby girl is OK, and to hope to hold her again.
“Please keep sharing her information until she is found,” she wrote.
Geyahna’s personal belongings were left behind, however a deactivated cell phone is in her possession, police said.
Police said Geyahna also suffers from mental health issues and does not have medication.
Eleven weeks. For the Medwatzes, 11 weeks is a long time. Eleven weeks of not knowing where their daughter is. Eleven weeks of constant worry.
Pennridge Regional Police said Geyahna left her home between midnight and 6:30 a.m. Surveillance video from a nearby home captured a vehicle stopping in front of Geyahna’s home at 2:36 a.m., and then departing about a half-hour later, police said.
Investigators said the footage shows a figure, believed to be Geyahna, walking away from the home with a flashlight around 2:50 a.m.
The vehicle leaves Lower Rocky Dale Road and drives in the direction of Upper Rocky Dale Road, police said. Police could not figure out a make and model of the vehicle from the video.
Residents with security cameras living on Allentown Road, Thousand Acre Road and Ridge Valley Road, or in the nearby area, to check recordings on March 21 between 2 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. for any vehicles traveling in the area, police said.
Geyahna’s missing persons case was featured on a May episode of REELZ Channel’s “On Patrol: Live” TV show (think “COPS” and “America’s Most Wanted” mashed together)
“This is a case where, once again, it is very possible that a teenager was communicating online with a stranger, left home to meet that person, and disappeared,” said newscaster Angeline Hartmann, of “On Patrol: Live.” “Her grandmother was working the night shift, and that night, she said she spoke with her before she left, in person. Then, on the phone, they spoke again.”
Hartmann said everything was fine during the conversations, but the next morning, when the grandmother went in to wake her for school, she was gone.
Video surveillance of the vehicle outside the home is when Geyahna was possibly picked up, Hartmann said.
“Pennridge Police have been very active, and investigators are hoping she is still in Pennsylvania,” Hartmann said in the broadcast. “That’s why it’s important to share nationwide.”
