Charges expected to be filed in Monday accident at Koehler's Jewelers, police say

Lansdale Police said they anticipate filing charges against the driver of a Volvo XC9 SUV who crashed into a fence and hit a parked car in the Koehler's Jewelers parking lot while attempting to turn at Main and Broad streets in Lansdale Monday afternoon.

The accident occurred at 11 N. Broad St. at 1:16 p.m., police said, in which the Volvo struck a parked and unoccupied Mercedes 350 in the jewelry store parking lot.

Police said the driver of the Volvo attempted to turn left onto North Broad Street from the straight/eastbound lane.

The driver, a 48-year-old male from North Wales, complained of minor head pain, but refused transport by VMSC.

There were no road closures and the scene was cleared by 2:18 p.m., police said.

Robert Shettsline wrote on North Penn Now's Facebook post of the accident that they were working on replacing the fence and new sign in the wake of the crash.
