Motorcycle accident disrupts Sumneytown Pike during lunchtime Monday

An accident involving a motorcycle and an Amazon box truck reduced Sumneytown Pike to one lane in both directions Monday afternoon in Upper Gwynedd Township and sent a motorcyclist to Grand View Hospital's trauma unit with potentially life threatening injuries.

According to reports from the scene, the accident occurred in front of the Willowyck Apartment Homes between Supplee Road and Kristin Circle around 11:51 a.m.. 

Sumneytown Pike was reduced to one lane northbound and southbound, in the southbound lanes. 

Upper Gwynedd Township Police were assisted at the scene by VMSC EMS. 

It is unknown at this time if there are additional injuries. A medic responder is on board the VMSC EMS ambulance.
