Driver hit two vehicles stopped on Route 309 in Saturday crash, accident still under investigation

Montgomery Township Police said a three-vehicle accident that occurred Saturday afternoon on Route 309 remains under investigation Monday morning, and they have asked anyone with information related to the crash to contact them immediately.

Police said the accident at 4:23 p.m. involved a 2003 Honda Accord, a 2024 Volkwagen Tiguan, and a 2022 Subaru Ascent.

Four people were injured and were taken to area hospitals by VMSC EMS. A 35-year-old female suffered knee pain and a 42-year-old male suffered bleeding from the head, police said. Other occupants reported minor injuries, police said.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the Honda was southbound on Route 309, and the other two vehicles were stopped in the northbound lanes, police said.

The driver of the Honda, police said, traveled left into the northbound lanes, striking the two other cars. The Honda continued on Route 309 and finally came to a rest on the northbound curb, police said.

Route 309 was reduced to one lane in both directions for 45 minutes, according to police. The scene was cleared by 6:15 p.m.

Montgomery Township Police were assisted at the scene by Fire Department of Montgomery Township, Montgomery Township Fire Police, and VMSC.
