Bergey Road closed, Route 309 reduced to 1 lane after Saturday afternoon accident with injuries

A two-vehicle accident and vehicle rescue shortly after 5 p.m. Saturday at Route 309/Bethlehem Pike and Bergey Road in Hatfield Township sent at least two individuals to Grand View Hospital by emergency medical personnel.

Grand View Hospital paramedics were called to the scene to assist VMSC Emergency Medical Services.

The accident involved a white Toyota Camry and a light blue Ford Escape SUV, according to reports from the scene.

A male driver had to be rescued from the Toyota.

Bergey Road is closed from Richmond Road to Bethlehem Pike in both directions. Route 309 South is reduced to one lane.

Hatfield Township Police were assisted at the scene by Freedom Valley Medical Rescue, Hatfield Fire Co., Perseverance Fire Co., and Colmar Vol. Fire Co. fire police.

The ages and conditions of the injured are unknown at this time.
