During last month’s Lansdale Borough Council meeting, borough Manager John Ernst announced a new addition the town should be able to meet and greet by the start of June.
“I’m pleased to announce our new Public Works Director Troy Spayd will be starting with the borough, the week after Memorial Day,” he said.
The town’s director of public works position has been vacant since early 2024, and is one of three department head positions expected to change hands this year, with the town’s finance director departing in mid-May and the director of the Lansdale Public Library expected to depart in mid-June.
Spayd graduated from Temple University and brings a background in engineering, architecture, land planning, wastewater and stormwater expertise, and will be leaving a similar position with the city of Fillmore, California “to move back east,” Ernst said.
“We look forward to his starting, and I anticipate he will be with us at the June 5 committee meetings,” he said. Council President Mary Fuller added: “That is welcome news, for sure, for everybody.”
