The incidents occurred in the Pennridge area between July 14 and July 20.
Pennridge Regional Police Officers handled 196 incidents during the week of July 14th to July 20th, 2024. A total of 83 traffic citations and warnings were issued during the same week.
INCIDENTS
Missing Person Investigation: On July 14th, 2024 officer were contacted by a resident residing at the Community at Rockhill following her husband leaving their apartment in the middle of the night. Mr. Wojcichowski left the home in the couple’s Subaru and suffers from dementia and has diabetes. After a few hours Mr. Wojcichowski was located by Northampton Township Police Department with the assistance of the county wide License Plate Reader system.
Fraud/Stolen Checks: Officers received a call from a business located in the 1000 block of Old Bethlehem Pike regarding two business checks being stolen and “white washed” by an unknown actor. The business owner reported a loss of $4,950.
Harassment: Pennridge Regional police were contacted on July 16th, 2024, regarding harassment occurring in the 0 hundred block of Boulder Drive. Due to an ongoing civil issue one party of the civil issue placed several derogatory signs and spray painted the front yard of the home indicating it was to be for sale in the near future. The resident of the home did not want police to proceed with any charges.
Suspicious Activity/Attempted Fraud: A resident in the 400 block of Goldmine Road reported to be selling an item on a local community app. The purchaser of the item when attempting to make payment began to make suspicious requests regarding payment and banking information. The sale was terminated, and no financial loss was incurred.
Attempted Fraud: Pennridge Regional Police spoke with a resident of the 1300 block of Willow Drive regarding attempted fraud on July 18th, 2024. The resident reported to be receiving numerous text messages from a phone number they did not recognize. Following an investigation by the responding officer the original number that was texting appeared to originate from Nigeria. With no losses incurred, no further investigation is necessary.
TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS
July 14th, 2024: Officers responded to Ridge Road in the area of Thousand Acre Road for a one vehicle accident involving a Toyota sedan that had left the roadway, striking a mailbox and then a utility pole. The Toyota did not stop following the crash and was never located by police.
July 16th, 2024: A two-vehicle traffic crash was reported in the area 1200 block of Allentown, involving two commercial vehicles. Upon arrival it was determined that the two truck had struck mirrors, causing minor damage to both vehicles.
July 18th, 2024: Pennridge Regional Police were called to the area of Rich Hill Road and Rt. 309 for a two-vehicle traffic crash. Upon arrival a Chevrolet Suburban and a Nissan Frontier had collided as the Suburban made a right-hand turn into the oncoming lane, striking the Nissan. There were no injuries reported.
July 20th, 2024: Officers responded to the intersection of Park Ave. and Three Mile Run Road for a tow vehicle traffic accident involving a Nissan Frontier pick up truck and a Chrysler mini-van. The operator of the Nissan pickup truck failed to stop at the stop sign, striking the Chrysler. There were no injuries reported at the scene and the driver of the Nissan was cited for duties at a stop sign.
