Woman 'manipulated' supermarket staff, walks out with $1,000 of activated gift cards

New Britain Township Police are seeking the identity of a woman who stole $1,000 in activated gift cards from Giant at 4275 County Line Road on Saturday.

Police said, in the early evening hours, an unidentified woman entered the grocery store and selected various amounts of gift cards from the shelf and walked to a register with them.

The suspect manipulated employees and management, police allege, for refunds on the gift cards, after the cashier activated them.

The woman walked out with the gift cards that she did not pay for, police said.

She also walked out of the store with merchandise in her cart without paying for it, police said.

In the early evening hours of Saturday, July 20th, 2024 an unknown female entered the store and selected various amount of gift cards from the shelf and walked to the register with them. The female manipulated employees and management for refunds on the gift cards after the cashier had activated them.  The female walked out with approximately $1,000 of activated gift cards that she didn't render payment for. The unknown female also walked out of the store with merchandise inside of her cart without rendering payment.
