14-year-old girl on bicycle struck by vehicle on Valley Forge Road

A vehicle accident has Valley Forge Road at Bancroft Road closed in both directions

Emergency services were called out at 6:57 p.m. Monday to Valley Forge Road at Bancroft Road in Towamencin for reports of a vehicle accident. The incident occurred near the entrance Chatham Village condominiums.

Those at the scene have said that a 14-year-old girl was struck by a vehicle. Reports of leg and hip injuries have not yet been confirmed.

The victim was taken to Grandview Hospital for injuries for reportedly Class Two injuries, or moderately life threatening. A medic responder was on board of VMSC Lansdale. 

A mountain-style bicycle was still visible under the center of a tan, four-door, Ford Edge vehicle at the scene. Two females are speaking with police, one middle-aged and another an older adult, reportedly in tears.

Drivers are asked to use caution in the area, as both directions of traffic are currently closed. Valley Ford Road at Sumneytown Road through to Jacks Lane.

North Penn Fire Company, Towamencin Volunteer Fire Company, Upper Gwynedd Township Fire Department, VMSC of Lansdale, and Skippack Emergency Medical Service, Inc. have reported to the scene.
