The Partnership TMA is proud to announce that it has been selected as a recipient of the AARP Community Challenge grant for 2024. We are one of only 343 grantees selected (out of 3,300+ applications) from across all 50 states, Washington D.C, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. This prestigious grant is awarded to projects that promote livable communities and enhance the quality of life for people of all ages.

The Partnership TMA is honored to be recognized for its efforts in advancing a range of cycling initiatives through its program "Better Biking in Montco." The AARP grant will support community engagement to assess "bikeability" in Hatfield Township and will include volunteers conducting "bike audits" July-November, 2024.

"We are incredibly grateful to AARP for selecting us as a Community Challenge grantee for 2024," said Jacqui Baxter Rollins, executive director at The Partnership TMA. "This grant supports building communities where everyone can thrive, regardless of age or ability. It’s a fact that cycling has many health benefits, increases access to key destinations and can reduce our carbon footprint. Involving local people in this project will help make Hatfield an even better place to live, work and visit!”

About the AARP Community Challenge

The AARP Community Challenge grant program funds innovative, quick-action projects that inspire change in areas such as public places; housing; transportation; digital connectivity; community resilience; and more. With additional funding support provided by Toyota Motor North America, the program is also increasing its investment in pedestrian safety projects that will improve streets and sidewalks, create vibrant pedestrian infrastructure, engage community members and much more.

This is all part of AARP’s nationwide work on livable communities, which supports the efforts of neighborhoods, towns, cities and counties across the country to become great places for all. AARP believes that communities should provide safe, walkable streets; affordable and accessible housing and transportation options; access to needed services; and opportunities for residents to participate in community life.
