A reported brush fire Tuesday night in Hatfield Township accelerated into a small fire in the woods off DIscovery Drive, which emergency crews had under control in under two hours.

The fire was reported at 9:10 p.m. in the woods behind Advanced Glass and Metal at 185 Discovery Drive; the woods are located between that business and Creekside Cabaret at the end of Advance Lane.

According to emergency radio traffic, Colmar Fire Co. firefighters had a small challenge accessing the fire, due to its location.

Firefighters were able to knock down the fire once they were able to get a fire hose through the terrain.

There were no injuries.

Colmar Fire Co. was assisted by Hatfield Police.

As of 10:50 p.m., the fire scene remained active.

Police said Wednesday that the fire was in the woods near a long-established dirt bike course and wooden fort structure. There were no signs of a homeless encampment, police said, adding that Hatfield is taking steps to remedy the current confines of the dirt bike course.
