Upper Gwynedd Township Police teamed up with random drivers and walkers on Sunday afternoon to clear a large limb that had fallen across Swedesford Road following a fast-moving, windy storm forecast to have golf-ball-sized hail.

Reader and resident Michael Simpson, of West Point, was out for a walk with Andrea Havens on Swedesford Road, below Sumneytown Pike, when the flashing lights of the patrol car caught their eyes.

A downed branch had fallen and blocked Swedesford Road. As Simpson and Havens approached the roadway to help, two other drivers exited and numerous people teamed up to move the branch and debris and re-open the road.
