Emergency personnel respond to motorcycle accident with injuries Monday evening at Five Points intersection

A male motorcyclist was taken to Grand View Hospital with immediate life-threatening injuries and cardiac arrest after a two-vehicle crash at the Five Points intersection in Montgomery Township Monday evening.

Additionally, a female driver of a red Toyota Prius, who was removed from her car by fire personnel, was taken by medical personnel to an area hospital.

According to emergency dispatch, the motorcyclist was reported as Trauma 1 Class 1 cardiac arrest.

The accident occurred at 5:56 p.m. at Horsham Road and Bethlehem Pike. A Harley-Davidson type of motorcycle sustained severe damage in the crash, and the Prius sustained heavy front-end damage.

Montgomery Township Police have shutdown Route 309 at Five Points and are detouring traffic down Cowpath Road by Lizell Office Furniture.
