Tuesday Night Crash on Bethlehem Pike in Montgomeryville Sends Three to Hospital

Three people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash that occurred on Tuesday night at the intersection of Bethlehem Pike and North Wales Road in Montgomeryville.

Police were dispatched to the scene at 7:02 p.m. for a report of a vehicle crash with injuries. Upon arrival, police found a Toyota Avalon and Tesla Model Y suffering from heavy front-end damage in the northbound lanes of Bethlehem Pike.

Though the cause of the crash is currently under investigation, Montgomery Township Police Chief Scott Bendig described the incident as a "turning movement crash.”

Three people were transported from the scene via ambulance to Grand View Hospital, including a 69-year-old male from Lansdale, a 31-year-old female from Lansdale, and a 28-year-old male from Hatfield. Their injuries were described as minor by police.

Both northbound lanes of Bethlehem Pike were closed between North Wales Road and the Five Points intersection for approximately one hour, as first responders processed and cleared the scene. The roadway reopened just after 8 p.m.

Montgomery Township Police were assisted at the scene by units from VMSC Emergency Medical Services and fire police from the Fire Department of Montgomery Township.
