One Injured in Weekend Crash on Valley Forge Road in Upper Gwynedd

One person was injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Valley Forge Road in Upper Gwynedd Township Saturday afternoon.

Crews were dispatched to the intersection with Garfield Avenue at 2:40 p.m. on Jan. 6 for a report of an accident with injuries. Arriving personnel located two midsized SUVs that had collided in the roadway.

One injury was reported, however dispatch indicated the injured party was treated at the scene and they refused transport to the hospital. Firefighters on scene were observed using fire extinguishers to treat smoke coming from the engine of one of the vehicles.

Valley Forge Road was reduced to one lane between Garfield Avenue and Jacks Lane as crews worked to clear the scene. The cause of the crash is under investigation, however it is believed that weather played a factor.

Upper Gwynedd Police were assisted at the scene by units from VMSC Emergency Medical Services and the Upper Gwynedd Township Fire Department.
