Medical Emergency Caused Police Dispatch at Cowpath and Broad in Hatfield Tuesday Morning

A first response dispatch to the intersection of Cowpath Road and North Broad Street in Hatfield Township Tuesday morning was due to a medical emergency and not a vehicle crash, police said.

Hatfield Police were initially dispatched to the intersection at 9:09 a.m. on Feb. 20 for a report of a vehicle crash. Witnesses at the scene reported seeing a person lying unconscious on the ground with police and emergency medical personnel on scene.

In response to a request for comment, police said there was no vehicle crash at the location. Instead, they said a female driver in her 30’s suffered an unknown medical emergency while driving, and she was the person witnesses saw lying on the ground.

The woman was transported from the scene via ambulance to an area hospital. Her current condition is unknown. The scene was cleared a short time after arrival.

Hatfield Police were assisted by units from VMSC Emergency Medical Services and witnesses at the scene.
