A Bucks County man is facing charges following allegations that he sexually extorted at least three women by posting their intimate images to social media or texting them the images along with threats of showing them to their family members.
The investigation began in September 2023, when a Hilltown Township woman called police to file a sexual extortion report. Police said the woman reported that 26-year-old Oswald Afanador, of Feasterville, had allegedly been harassing her and threatening to show explicit photographs and videos to her family if she did not go out with him.
Investigators located a private account on a social media platform bearing the woman’s name, which was registered with Afanador’s email address, according to charging documents. Upon execution of a search warrant on the account, investigators said they discovered 10 images and four videos of the woman in various states of undress and engaged in sexual activity.
Police said Afanador threatened to friend request the woman’s mother and father on the account if she did not go out with him. In an interview with investigators in October 2023, Afanador allegedly admitted to owning the account, stating that he created the fake account "to get in contact with her,” according to the criminal complaint.
When asked if he had threatened to follow the woman’s family with the account, Afanador said, "No. I wanted…I wanted…yeah, I’m just not going to talk now,” according to police.
During the course of the investigation, police said they identified two other female victims, with both women reporting that Afanador had sent their images and videos back to them via text message or email in a similar manner. Additionally, investigators said they found pictures and videos of all three women on Afanador’s phone in a hidden folder, as well as images and videos of other unidentified women.
As a result of the investigation, Afanador has been charged with one misdemeanor count of identity theft, three misdemeanor counts of unlawful dissemination of an intimate image, three misdemeanor counts of harassment, and one misdemeanor count of coerce/threaten to expose secret.
Charges were filed via summons, meaning Afanador has not been arraigned and bail has not been set. He’s scheduled to make his first court appearance on the charges at a preliminary hearing on March 26 at 3 p.m. in front of Magisterial District Judge Regina Armitage.
All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
