A Northampton County man has been arrested in connection with a string of summertime vehicle vandalism incidents that caused more than $11,000 in damage to vehicles in Sellersville and Perkasie boroughs.
Jordan Emmons, 21, of Northampton Borough, has been charged with one felony count of conspiracy to commit criminal mischief, one misdemeanor count of conspiracy to commit criminal mischief, and eight summary counts of conspiracy to commit criminal mischief, following an investigation by the Perkasie Borough Police Department.
Emmons is currently free on $100,000 unsecured bail.
The string of vandalism occurred during the early-morning hours of Aug. 22, 2023 at 11 locations across Sellersville and Perkasie. In total, 31 vehicles were damaged, causing $11,739.56 in damage, according to the criminal complaint. The damage varied from vehicle to vehicle, which included 32 slashed tires, 12 smashed windows, and eight vehicles suffering dents or other damage — which are believed to have been caused by an airsoft gun, police said.
Some of the incidents were caught on surveillance footage, and Emmons was initially identified via an anonymous tip provided to police after they issued a call for public assistance in the investigation, the report states. Additionally, the vehicle that was used in the incidents had multiple license plate reader hits in the area, and was ultimately determined to belong to Emmons’ father, police said.
Investigators said they spoke with Emmons in January, at which time he allegedly admitted to driving the vehicle, causing the damage, and identified the passenger in the vehicle.
The identity of the passenger is being withheld as they have not been charged.
Emmons was arraigned on the charges on Feb. 8, and his next court appearance is a preliminary hearing on March 19 at 3:30 p.m. in front of Magisterial District Judge Regina Armitage.
All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
