Lawmakers Congratulate North Montco Tech for Winning $85,000 State Grant

State Reps. Liz Hanbidge and Steve Malagari congratulated the educators and administrators at the North Montco Technical Career Center for earning an $85,000 competitive grant from the state.

The grant, one of 55 awarded statewide, comes from the Department of Education and will be used to purchase new equipment to train students through its career and technical education programs, said a press release from the House Democratic Communications Office.

"North Montco Tech Career Center’s commitment to shaping Pennsylvania’s future trade workforce is remarkable. Equipping students with state-of-the-art tools and up-to-date practices is essential for their smooth transition into the workforce. Grants like these play an important role in ensuring such readiness,” said Hanbidge. "Moreover, this funding not only broadens students’ post-high school opportunities, but also empowers them to pursue their interests while sharpening vital skills for careers that our commonwealth will always need.”

"The North Montco Technical Career Center provides a top-notch education and skills development program to students pursing a variety of in-demand careers,” said Malagari. "I’ve had the opportunity to see the excellent work being done by area students who are working hard to hone their trade. My sincerest congratulations go to North Montco’s administrators, educators and students for earning this grant. I am delighted to support grants like these as we work in Harrisburg each year on our state funding priorities.”

The North Montco Technical Career Center serves students and adults desiring continuing education in the Methacton, North Penn, Perkiomen Valley, Souderton Area and Wissahickon school districts. It offers 24 programs in seven career cluster areas, including construction trades, cosmetology, culinary arts, engineering/manufacturing, health and human services, power and transportation, and visual communications, said the release.
