Crews Dispatched to Vehicle Fire Near Lansdale Exit of Turnpike Sunday Afternoon

Area firefighters were dispatched to the scene of a vehicle fire on the turnpike Sunday afternoon in Towamencin Township.

The incident occurred on the northbound side near the Lansdale exit at 5:07 p.m., with crews encountering a black two-door pickup truck that was fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze, but not before the vehicle suffered heavy damage.

Traffic was reduced to two lanes on the northbound side as first responders worked the scene. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Pennsylvania State Police were assisted at the scene by units from the Centre Square Fire Company with Towamencin Fire Company on standby.
