Quakertown Man Found Guilty of Raping Two Young Girls

A Bucks County jury on Wednesday convicted a Quakertown man of rape of a minor that occurred 14 years ago in his home when the victim was four.

Matias J. Martinez Morales, 59, was found guilty of rape by forcible compulsion, rape of a child, indecent assault by forcible compulsion, terroristic threats, unlawful contact with a minor, indecent assault of a person less than 13 years of age, and corruption of minors, according to the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office.

Testimony took three days before the verdict was handed down by the jury, per the report. Morales’ bail was revoked and he must undergo an evaluation by the Sex Offender Assessment Board, per the report. Sentencing will occur in 90 days.

"We are extremely satisfied with the jury’s verdict, and grateful that the brave young victims in this case were able to see justice done,” said Chief Deputy District Attorney Matt Lannetti. "Without their courage and the hard work of the assigned detective, we would not have been able to achieve this result.”

An investigation into Morales began in November 2022 after detectives received a child welfare report stating a 16-year-old girl was raped by Morales when she was four, police said. A forensic interview with the victim revealed Morales raped her several times and threatened to kill her and her family if she told anyone, per the report.

Then, another victim came forward and told the Child Advocacy Center that she was sexually assaulted multiple times by Morales when she was six, police said.

The case was investigated by Quakertown Borough Police Detective Ryan Naugle and prosecuted by Chief Deputy District Attorney Matt Lannetti.
